Calling all Baristas and Coffee Enthusiasts in the Philippines!

The registration is now open for Baristas’ Quest, a campaign of competitions created for baristas and coffee enthusiasts to showcase their skills in coffee that will take place in Davao, Baguio and Cebu this July.

Three different competitions are prepared for the month-long campaign. If you can identify a unique coffee in a set of cups, you may join the Flavors + Profiles: Coffee Triangulation—a cup tasting activity that will be held at the Frog Kaffe in Davao City on July 3.

For artists who can create designs using milk, Baguio City will be having the Coffee + Art: Latte Art Throwdown at Halfroom Coffee on July 10.

Meanwhile, for individuals who can extract rich coffee flavors into a cup, the Kettle + Cup: Coffee Brewing Challenge is set to happen at the Tightrope Coffee in Cebu City on July 25.

Michael Harris Lim, President and CEO of Henry & Sons Trading and Manufacturing Company, Inc., who is also the 2019 Philippine National Barista Champion and the 2019 World Barista Championship Semi-Finalist, leads the Baristas’ Quest campaign.

“Over the years, our company is committed in championing the local coffee scene through programs that promote sustainability in our coffee industry—from the farmers down to our baristas—by alleviating their status, improving their skills, and promoting camaraderie,” said Michael Harris Lim.

Registration is free. Interested participants may register at bit.ly/BaristaQuest-Davao, bit.ly/BaristaQuest-Baguio, and bit.ly/BaristaQuest-Cebu.

The champions of these competitions will get the chance to represent his or her region by getting a competitor sponsorship package for the National Coffee Championships, a travel allowance and accommodation to the National Barista Conference happening in Manila this September, and a Comandante Grinder! These events are co-sponsored by the venue partners.

UMak student crowned Miss Makati 2019

Posted by Rose at 16:40 0 comments
An 18-year old student of the University of Makati (UMak), Micah Beatrice Santos from Barangay West Rembo, has been crowned Miss Makati 2019, besting 23 other candidates at the Coronation Night held Friday at the Makati Coliseum.

Makati Mayor Abby Binay said the newly-crowned Miss Makati 2019 impressed the judges with her striking beauty, self-confidence and intelligence, which have made her an ideal partner of the city government in promoting a “smart, sustainable and future-ready Makati”.

“Miss Makati 2019 has risen above the challenges she has faced and turned these into opportunities to grow and become a stronger and better person. I am confident that she will be able to fulfil her crucial role in accelerating Makati’s transformation as a Smart City,” Mayor Abby said.

The mayor said Miss Makati 2019 will serve as the city’s ambassador of goodwill while inspiring fellow young Makatizens to strive for excellence and take an active part in city-building, as defined by the 2019 pageant theme, “Creating the Future Now”.

Santos is also the current titleholder of Miss UMak 2019. She stated that her advocacy is to campaign against bullying, having been a victim of bullies herself, and vowed to help fellow victims overcome adversity.

Mayor Abby, accompanied by Miss Makati 2018 Karla O’Hara and Congressman Luis Campos, crowned Miss Makati 2019.

Mayor Abby also congratulated the other winners, Miss Makati Tourism 2019 Kristina Cassandra Bahaj and Miss Makatizen 2019 Venice Kayla Barrameda.

“Both Miss Makati Tourism 2019 and Miss Makatizen 2019 have shown that they are up to the task of helping us promote innovations that will empower and inspire the citizens of Makati,” she stated.

Bahaj, 22, a resident of Barangay Sta. Cruz, said that she was motivated to join the pageant by her personal experience with taking care of a family member suffering from dementia, her own grandmother. This led to her advocacy for making Makati the first “dementia-friendly city” in the country.

Barrameda, 21-year old resident of Barangay Guadalupe Viejo, who also won as Miss CEU 2016 at Centro Escolar University, is an advocate of good oral health. Her goal is to promote oral health by providing dental missions for the less privileged to give back to the city.

Miss Makati 2019 took home P200,000 cash prize, a crown, a sash, a gift pack from Home of Beauty Color (HBC), and P50,000 worth of gift certificates from iSkin Aesthetic Lifestyle.

Miss Makati Tourism 2019, on the other hand, won a cash prize of P150,000, a crown, a sash, an HBC gift pack, and P50,000 worth of gift certificates from iSkin Aesthetic Lifestyle. Miss Makatizen 2019 bagged P100,000 cash prize, a crown, a sash, an HBC gift pack, and P50,000 worth of gift certificates from iSkin Aesthetic Lifestyle.

Bahaj was also named “Miss Air Asia” while Barrameda won the titles “Miss iSkin Aesthetic Lifestyle” and “Miss Balmain”. The title “Miss Congeniality” was won by Gianelle Anne Balaton, 22, of Barangay Valenzuela, “Miss Photogenic” went to Micah Beatriz Santos; and “Best in Long Gown” was Renee Rose Tirones, 23, of Barangay San Lorenzo.

Now on its 29th year, the Miss Makati 2019 coronation night was hosted by Mikael Daez and Issa Litton. The pageant was part of the month-long celebration of the 349th Founding Anniversary of Makati with the theme, “Makati 2025: Fasttracking Progress”.

The board of judges in this year’s pageant was chaired by Albert Andrada, designer; together with Sheila Romero, CEO Air Asia; Kate Pagkalinawan, CEO iSkin Aesthetic Lifestyle; George Royeca, CEO/owner of Angkas; Franco Laurel, singer and actor; Ruffa Gutierrez, actress and beauty queen; Tim Yap, host and media practitioner; and designers Anthony Ramirez and Paul Cabral.

Entertainment numbers were provided by Air Dance, Nexus (Makati Dance Challenge 2018 Champions), and balladeer Michael Pangilinan.

The other 21 finalists included Charlene Marie Inonog (Kasilawan); Stephanie Isabelle Aquino (Poblacion); Sophia Michaela Leanne Aguado (Pio del Pilar); Alliaa Nicole Diputado (Tejeros); Gianelle Anne Balaton (Valenzuela); Patricia Rose Pangan (San Isidro); Bianca Gabrielle Abaya (Poblacion); Lailah Guiuan (Pembo); Kaoru Aseana Pimentel (South Cembo); Jan Karen Esguerra (Bel-Air);

It's Time To Move

Posted by Rose at 18:26 0 comments
It's been a days since I created this blog as back up blog of mine. And then since I can't retrieve my old blog because of error and being banned I think this is the right time to move here and to announce that this back up blog is now officially my personal and my official blog site from now on.

From now on, and starting this day Mom Diary and https://ilovemomsh.blogspot.com is now my official blog site πŸ˜‰, and I'm thinking to upload and remove my all posts and comments here from WordPress to here (blogger). For now, I'm still learning the steps of how to uploading my WordPress blog posts and comments here at blogger. I hope I learned it πŸ˜…πŸ˜Š. Or maybe start from the start again πŸ€”, I mean start from the fresh one and scratch πŸ€”πŸ˜…. What do you think, guys?

By the way, I'm thinking too to buy a custom domain for this blog. I want dot.com or dot.us or the cheapest one 😊. I try in Namecheap.com which domain name extension is on sale. Like what I said a while ago, com or us is the domain I want and, luckily, dot.us is for $3.88 only and $8.48 yearly.

The domain I like is not the cheap one, there's another one, which is XYZ with a pri ce of $1.38 only. Suddenly I don't know when I buy cause I don't have PayPal or credit card. And I don't know if the registration company I know or should I say the company where I bought my first domain has dot.us.

For now, blogspot.dom is my temporary domain extension. Maybe next month I can buy one.

What do you think? Buy own domain or not? Help me to decide guys?

For pioneers in the e-commerce industry to remain relevant and stay ahead of the pack, they must not solely bank on their experience and know-how – and partner with companies that will help them grow their business. This is especially so when it comes to businesses who need to deal with customers who still opt to make cash payments for their orders and transactions.

Kimstore, the Philippines’ most reliable online gadget store in the country and one of the most awarded online platform, knows this too well. GCASH LOOKING FOR NGO PARTNERS IN MINDANAO FOR GCASH FOR GOOD PROGRAM

Posted by Rose at 12:48 0 comments
Leading mobile money platform, GCash, is looking for partners in Mindanao for its GCash for Good - a pioneering corporate social responsibility program that enables Filipinos to donate to non-government organizations (NGOs) that champion worthy advocacies from education, environment to animal welfare among others.

This was announced yesterday by GCash VP for Corporate Communications Reyner Villasenor in a press launch held in Park Inn Hotel in Davao City who said that GCash for Good is another big step to further develop the GCash app into a more socially relevant and sustainable platform that help addresses issues across different levels of society.

GCash, operated by operated by Globe Fintech Innovations Inc. (Mynt), is well-equipped to become a springboard for donations to non-government organizations that champion various advocacies, thanks to its scale and innovative digital platform. Thus, the GCash executive is calling on all NGOs in Davao City and nearby cities and provinces to join the GCash for Good as their partners in spreading good to all.

"With GCash for Good, GCash users can use the GCash app to donate to various groups to create an impact on society. This allows GCash to be a more inclusive and open platform that will help create better opportunities for millions of Filipinos. I am calling on all our NGO friends in Davao region and in the whole of Mindanao to join us as we spread the power of good through GCash,” Villasenor said.

For interested NGOs, some regulatory requirements need to be completed before becoming official GCash for Good partners to ensure the organizations are legitimate and the money donated cannot be abused.

The GCash for Good program currently involves 35 NGOs, which are included in the initial batch after completing their documentation requirements both from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and Mynt before the program was launched. The program has already been launched in Manila and Cebu.

During the GCash for Good launch in Davao City, Villasenor also disclosed that that people now prefer to donate online, as this removes the hassle of having to go through long queues and processes, giving them more time to focus on their daily lives.

He quoted a study by 2017 Global Trends in Giving which shows that 54 percent of individuals prefer to donate online, while the total volume of donations made online grew by a strong 12.1 percent.

Various researches also show a growing trend in micro-donations and crowdfunding, with sites like Patreon and Kofi gaining massive support. According to Tech’s Good, micro-donations range between $0.25 and $10. This kind of donations, although small at a time, can make a huge difference once added up.

"With innovative mobile money technology like GCash, people who want to do good are now empowered with a more efficient experience. Any amount will create huge opportunities for organizations that forward different issues. With GCash for Good, users will also have direct access to where their donations go. It showcases a more transparent ad user-friendly interface for anyone to access, ” Villasenor stressed.

Back Up Blog

Posted by Rose at 20:54 6 comments
Ok, since I recognized that my blog link is blocked and banned in Facebook and Instagram, and I don't know where it's back to normal I decide to make and create back up blog site with new blog URL of course for a while or maybe for good.

I hope this time everything is ok and can't get or can't see that error again in the future. I love blogging so much and trying my best to have or create a blog post every time I'm free.

Anyways, a while ago, I said that I create a backup blog. Yeah create one, and this time I'm back again in Blogger and, my new blog link URL is https://ilovemomsh.blogspot.com. Yeah, guys, i.m back in Blogger again. I need to make a new one or should I say a backup blog because I have no choice cause my custom domain name is banned and can't use it anymore.

I wish this time I never block or ban again. I need to be careful and be aware from now on.

What's Happening?

Posted by Rose at 13:11 20 comments
Oh my god, what's happening? Last Monday, I noticed that my Instagram is had a problem and got an error there while I'm trying to like or heart the new post of my friends. But suddenly I encountered an error which is "Link is not allowed: It looks like your profile contains a link that is not allowed. We restrict certain content and actions to protect our community. Tell us if you think we made a mistake."

I don't know what's going on and I don't know how to fix that error. I don't know where to report regarding that error and, also I don't know how to contact or to email the Instagram Support. The only link I have on my profile is my URL or should I say my blog URL.

I ignored it because I thought it's just a mistake only. And sooner my account is become ok and no errors. But suddenly it's nothing change the error is still there and still can't like a new post.

The said error is on my FB account too. The last blog post that I share on my FB Page and Group is gone and can't see it either on my page. I don't know what's going on and what's happening. I can't figure out why it's happening on my accounts.

I'm a little confused and little panic now because I don't know what's going on and what's the problem. But later on, I found the problem I found which is the real problems. I found that my link blog URL is the problem (http://www.momsjournal.info). I also found and noticed that my blog link is blocked, I don't know why?.

I don't know why my blog link URL becomes blocked on Facebook. When I knew it, I log in on my Instagram account and start removing my blog link on my profile there and gotcha it's back to normal again. I can like and heart my post now. Thank God because I figured it out. My problem now is my blog link. I don't know how to unblock it?

Can you help me, guys? Or I need to move in blogger again.
